Tribal News Network (TNN) Digital Transformation

Digital Platforms Manager

TimelineAugust 2017 - September 2021 (4 years)
StatusCompleted

The Challenge

Tribal News Network, a digital news platform covering Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the former FATA region, had significant digital infrastructure limitations. The website was not optimised for mobile readers (critical for a region where mobile is the primary mode of internet access), publishing workflows were inconsistent, and the editorial team had limited training in SEO and modern CMS standards. Bilingual operations (Pashto and English) added substantial operational friction.

The Approach

Professionalise digital operations from the infrastructure up: redesign news platforms for mobile readability, build internal capacity so the team operates autonomously without dependency, and establish clear bilingual publishing workflows with structured SEO.

What Was Built

  • Redesigned news websites optimised for mobile readership and speed across low-bandwidth connections
  • Structured Pashto and English bilingual editorial workflows
  • Trained and supervised a 5-person web editing team in CMS management and digital standards
  • SEO strategy for organic reach expansion across regional audiences
  • Server configuration, email systems, and security maintenance
